THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Denny Freeman, 69, beloved husband of Mrs. Betty Freeman of Thomson, died Friday, August 13, 2004, at his residence.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2004, in the Westview Cemetery, Augusta, with Father Edward O'Connor officiating.
Mr. Freeman was a native of Glascock County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He had worked for over 30 years with the Wilkes County Sheriff Department, the Harlem Police Department and the Columbia County Sheriff Department, where he retired as a Bailiff.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Freeman, Thomson; two daughters, Candy Coggins and Jan Freeman, both of Thomson; a son, Jeff Freeman, Thomson; a brother, D.B. Freeman, Florida; a brother-in-law, Alton (Denise) Rodgers, Evans; five grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Columbia County Sheriff Deparment.
