Thomson's scrimmage game against Lincoln County changed to Thursday night

It's not like it's not going to happen - the scrimmage football game between the Thomson High Bulldogs and the Lincoln County Red Devils. It's just that the game will be played one day sooner than originally planned.

The game between the two football teams will be played Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln County High in Lincolnton. It had been previously set for Friday night.

But because of the possibility of heavy rain from Tropical Storm Faye on Friday, Lincoln County Head Coach Larry Campbell requested that the game be played Thursday, according to Thomson High Principal Rudy Falana.

Another bit of news concerning the upcoming scrimmage game between the Bulldogs and Red Devils is that the game will be broadcast live via WTHO with the Two Old Dogs, Ralph Starling and Jerry Randolph. Their broadcast, traditionally done in the studios of the radio station in Thomson, will be begin with a pre-game show at 7 p.m.

For football fans not able to make it to the game, remember to tune in to WTHO, 101.7 FM for all of the exciting action on the gridiron between the Thomson High Bulldogs and the Lincoln County Red Devils.
