McDuffie Regional Medical Center recently recognized Pecola Lane, Fitness Center Assistant at Health Link, as its July Golden Heart Winner.

Her supervisor said she is an employee that is always flexible and loyal.
"When Myra Hair is off, Pecola comes in at 5:30 a.m. to open, and when Mike is out she closes at 9 p.m.," said Dede Keir, Director of Health Link.
Mrs. Keir said she's heard many people say they would stop coming to Health Link if they didn't have Ms. Lane to talk to. No matter what, Ms. Lane continues to smile and greet everyone that enters the wellness club.
"Pecola is about as good as I've ever seen for remembering people's name and calling them by their name," said Health Link member Andy Knox. "She speaks to everyone when they come in and as they are leaving. She always responds by telling you to have a good day or evening and calls you by name. She makes Health Link a very welcoming atmosphere."
Mrs. Keir said Ms. Lane is now in charge of Health Link's EFT program.
"She trains members on the equipment, and is a very positive team player," Mrs. Keir said. "She thinks the Hospital and Health Link are the best!"
