Jim and Susan McFadyen would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Kathryn McFadyen, of Thomson, to Jared Brian Land, son of Bobby and Bonnie Land of Thomson.
Miss McFayden is the granddaughter of Mrs. Robert Scannell and Mr. Norwood Kenneth McIntosh and the late Duncan Brown McFadyen Sr. and Harriet Hodgin McFadyen. She is a graduate of Thomson High School and is attending Georgia Military College. She is employed by the United States Coast Guard Reserves.
Mr. Land is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Land Sr. He is a graduate of Thomson High School, Augusta Tech and Central Savannah River Law Enforcement Center. He is employed by the Thomson Police Department.
The wedding is set for Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the garden of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Usry at 218 Milledge Street in Thomson. A reception will follow the ceremony.
