ATHENS, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Judkins Blount, 88, of Athens, died August 27, 2005 in Athens.
She was the daughter of the late Percy G. and Bertie S. Judkins. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and the University of Georgia. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Savannah, since 1928 and a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Georgia Unit of Wally Byam Caravan Club and traveled extensively with that group.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. John Finley officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Blount is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward H. Blount and by her son and daughter-in-law Percy and Sandra Blount of Thomson, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Tom Litton of Cumming, and Barbara and Don Rupert of Edgefield, S.C. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Percy J. Blount, Jr., W. Andrew Litton, Patrick Greenhow Blount, John Bradford Adams, James Edward Blount, and Wyn Douglas Fortenberry.
