AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Clara E. Shirey beloved wife of the late Shedrach M. Shirey entered into rest Wednesday August 24, 2005 at University Hospital.
Mrs. Shirey was a loving mother and homemaker and a member of Dearing Full Gospel Church.
Funeral services were held Friday August 26, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel with Rev. Eddie Renew and Rev. Jerry Rockefeller officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Serving as Pallbearers were Benny Shirey, Trey Thiel, Jamie Testi, Bob Shobert, Gerald Shirey and Jimmy Brinson.
Mrs. Shirey is survived by her children; James H. (Betty) Shirey of Petersburg, Va., Judson F. (Ann) Shirey of Augusta, Millie F. (Jim) Goodwin of Augusta, Gene Shirey of Augusta, Betty A. (Dean) Bales of Thomson, and Danny R. (April) Shirey of Augusta. Mrs. Shirey is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, sister; Tinnie J. Lawrence of Evans.
Mrs. Shirey is preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Thomas Peebles, Joe Peebles, Emma Reese, Leslie Newsome, Sadie Harvelle and Artie Shirey.
Elliott Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
