McAvoy-Sanders to wed in Washington

Benji and Sherri McAvoy of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Renee, of Lincolnton, to Christopher Paul Sanders, also of Lincolnton, son of Darryl and LuAnn Cartledge Sanders of Thomson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Betty Casper and the late Rex Casper of Poway, Calif., and Thomas and Mary Jane McAvoy of Washington.

She is a 2002 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School and attended Geogia College and State University in Milledgeville. Miss McAvoy is employed as Singles and Outreach Ministry Assistant at Warren Baptist Church in Augusta.

Mr. Sanders is the grandson of Betty C. Sanders of Thomson and the late Mason Sanders and the late Tom and Louise Cartledge of Lincolnton.

He is a 2001 graduate of Revere High School in Richfield, Ohio, and served four years in the United States Army with two tours of duty in Iraq. Mr. Sanders is employed by Gold Cross EMS in Richmond County and McDuffie County Fire/Rescue.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, Feb. 2, at 4 p.m. at Phillips Mill Baptist Church in Washinton with a reception to follow at the VFW, also in Washington.
