The second annual Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic will be Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Belle Meade Country Club.
"It's to raise money for the Chamber, so we can improve the quality of the Chamber," said organizer and board member Andy Knox, Jr.
The tournament is a three-man scramble, limited to 26 teams. Mr. Knox said registration is about one-third full.
"We just need some more participation," he added.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. along with a lunch sponsored by Chick-fil-A. A putting tournament at 12:30 p.m. will cost participants $5 with a 50-50 split payout. The shotgun start begins at 1:15 p.m. and mulligans can be purchased for $5 each.
Participation costs $100 per individual or $300 per three-man team. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Tournament sponsors are AT&T, Badcock Home Furniture and More, Thomson Plastics, Inc., Jefferson Energy Corporative, Anthony Auto Sales, Inc., Activities Council of Thomson, Jimmy & Dena's Body Shop, McDuffie Tourism and Milsco Manufacturing Company.
