Party thanks officials for Perdue work Letter to the Editor Dear Editor, The McDuffie County Republican Party would like to thank McDuffie County Commission Chairman Charlie Newton and Thomson City Councilman Mike Carrington for their planning and organization of the ice cream social on Wednesday, Aug. 23, for Governor Sonny Perdue. This event was an East Central Georgia reelection kick-off for the governor and was well attended by more than 400 people who got to hear Gov. Perdue's political ideas for the next four years.
