MILLEN, Ga. - Mr. Harold Lesley Echols, 73, died September 1, 2005.
He was born in Forsyth County, a U. S. Navy veteran and retired from the Millen News. Mr. Echols was a member of the Millen Baptist Church where he attended the BOCH Sunday School Class, and was also a Charter member of both the Magnolia Country Club and the Millen Jaycees.
Funeral Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Millen Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Hood and Maurice Crowder officiating. Burial followed in the Millen Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson Echols; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela E. and Gene Walker; two grandchildren, Ashley Walker and Wesley Walker of Thomson; two brothers, Charles Echols of Thomson and Larry Echols of Rock Springs, WY, and a sister, Winona Mathis of Acworth.
Mr. Echols was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Ralph Echols and Rudy Day Echols, brother, Donald Echols and sister, Audrey Thacker.
Active Pallbearers were nephews. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Boch Sunday School Class and the Magnolia Country Club.
Crowe-Fields Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of arrangements.
