Thomson area residents will have a wider selection of dining choices when a new Chinese restaurant, Ming Wah, opens its doors for business Sept. 13.
The restaurant, located on Washington Road near I 20, will offer seating for 150 patrons and will have 70 to 80 different menu items to choose from, said Joe Chen of the Augusta Ming Wah Restaurant.
The Chinese restaurant, which has been a popular spot on Walton Way in Augusta for 30 years, is expanding to McDuffie County due to customer demand.
"A lot of people have asked about opening a restaurant in Thomson," said Mr. Chen.
The menu will feature a wide variety of dishes including Cantonese, Mandarin and Szechuwan selections. There will be several specials of the house, Chen noted.
Lunch prices will average $5.25 and dinner prices will be about $6.50.
Operating hours will be Sunday -- Thursday, 11 a.m. -- 9:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. -- 10:30 p.m.
