Dinner to raise money for family

Thomson and McDuffie County public safety officers will have a benefit steak dinner Sept. 21 to benefit Thomson Assistant Police Chief Jerry Stanphill and his family. The Stanphills lost all the contents of their home in a fire earlier this month.

Tickets are available from Police Chief John Hathaway, Sheriff Logan Marshall, Fire Chief Rick Sewell or any public safety officer.

The dinners include a choice of an 8-oz. or 16-oz. ribeye, salad, baked potato, bread, tea and dessert. Tickets are $11 and $17 depending on the choice of steak. Dinners can be picked up at the Main Street fire station.
