Mrs. Mary Louise Hammock Smith

DECATUR, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Louise Hammock Smith, 88, of Decatur, Ga., entered into rest September 4, 2007, with her daughters by her side.

Mary was a native of McDuffie County and moved to Decatur, Ga., in 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eugene Smith, and brothers, Franklin, Edwin and Clifford Hammock. Mary was the next to the youngest child and only daughter of the late Cleveland and Carrie Morris Hammock.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, Thomson, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.

Survivors include daughters, Wynette Smith, Decatur, Ga., Cheryl S. Margol and her husband, Steve, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brother, Percy Hammock and his wife, Mabel, of Thomson. Additional survivors include a sister-in-law, Alice Hammock, Thomson.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
