THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Ansley Johnson, 87, of Thomson, entered into rest on Tuesday afternoon, September 5, 2006 at Windermere Nursing Home in Augusta.
A native and lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Mrs. Johnson had worked and retired from the Thomson Company after more than 35 years of service. Her family and those that knew her will cherish their memories of a God fearing woman that put the feelings and cares of others before herself.
She is preceded in death by: her husband: Douglas Maynard Johnson, Sr.; her son, Douglas Maynard Johnson, Jr., who passed away in March of 2006; a stillborn daughter; and two brothers, Percy and Henry Ansley, of Thomson.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Missy Steed and her husband, Jim, Martinez; a great-grandson, Dalton Steed; one brother, Franklin Ansley, Jessup, and many friends, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 10 am on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the White Oak United Methodist Church Campground Tabernacle, on White Oak Road, McDuffie County, with Rev. Jim Tirko and Rev. John Hill, officiating.
