Remember the legacy of Sept. 11

Dear Editor,

The world changed five years ago. It was a day that was frozen in time.

For a while, people forgot fighting and came together no matter where they lived.

The world changed because of one vile act that hit not just the United States, but citizens of other countries. Someone tried to knock the U.S. down into defeat, which failed.

The world has forgotten that togetherness and has given way to bickering and arguing on how to deal with current issues.People need to respect each other again. People need to respect their country that they live in, not where they originally came from. People need to respect the flag.

We need to find that way back to the time where, for a moment, at least, we were a country of one. Isolationism doesn't work against those who would commit acts like 9-11, because they would only cause the downfall of freedom.

The acts of terror against our flag, our military, and our veterans are shameful.
