WASHINGTON, Ga. -- James F. Echols, 90, entered into rest Monday, September 6, 2004 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta. He was the son of the late Charles Edward and Eva Cosby Echols.
He was a veteran of World War II, retired salesman and farmer.
Graveside services were held Thursday, September 9, at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, Georgia, with Dr. C. Don Manning, Reverend of First Christian Church, officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Imogene (Genie) Wilkinson Echols of the home; six children, Charles F. Echols, Carrollton, Marilyn E. Lee, Cochran, William M. Echols, Augusta, Merigene E. Gaskins, Martinez, Luree E. Skaggs, Calhoun and Joy E. Carter, North Augusta, S.C.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Evelyn E. Richards, Commerce, formerly of Thomson.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
