Mr. Watson A. Chance
Retired Civil Service

THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Watson A. Chance, 83 beloved husband of Mrs. Eileen Chance of Ginger Hill Road died Saturday September 16, 2006 in the University Hospital.

Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Tuesday September 19, 2006 in the Marshall Baptist Church with Rev. John Prater and Rev. Don Reeves officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Hughie Clark, Randel Clark, George Holliman Jr, Brandon Chance, James Love, and Willard Jones. The Men's 2 Sunday School Class of Marshall Baptist Church and the American Legion post 194 served as honorary pallbearers.

A native of Kite, Ga., Mr. Chance was a son of the late Mackey M. and Rosie Lee Tapley Chance. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of the American Legion post 194 in Lincolnton. He had retired from Civil Service after more than 30 years of service, and was a member of Marshall Baptist Church and the Men's 2 Sunday School Class.

Mr. Chance is survived by wife, Eileen Chance, of Thomson; two daughters, Charlotte Clark of Thomson and Darlene Holliman of Dearing; one son, Tommy Chance of Thomson; two brothers, Wiley Chance of Forest Park, and Robert Chance of Bartow; two sisters, Louise Heyward of Covington, and Rosa Hill of Stockbridge, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
