Nation must get back on right track

Dear Editor,

A nation came together for one brief moment Sept. 11 to remember the fallen brave men, women and children in the fight against terrorism.

They were the first in a war that has forever changed this country and the world. They are the first freedom fighters, and as such we should never dishonor their memories by forgetting or shelving their sacrifice to continue with our bickering, hating of one another, and living to the extreme in all forms of deviant behavior. Christians have far too long allowed the followers of the ruler of this world, Satan, to prevail, to walk unchecked through our lives, to try to eradicate God forever from not only our lives, but the lives of our children and their children. It is time to stand up and in one voice say to the lawmakers, we will not sit quietly any longer and worship the ideology: It is just okay as long as it doesn't hurt me, and whatever feels good is alright, just as long as I am left alone. The problem is that we have all! We have allowed that thinking to become the god that is worshiped in this country, wondering all along why we have murders, rape, molesting of our babies, drug dealers who rule the cities and suburbs, and - sad to say - is just the tip of the iceberg, which is quite horrific in itself.

To the Christians that have seen our country fall apart, have watched in horror as decent hardworking people are slaughtered in our streets, it is time to say enough. We will not let the freedom fighters be forgotten. We will not allow God to be trampled. We will stop standing idly by while government officials continue to stay in office that have no other agenda than to fill their pockets instead of working to keep this country alive and prospering. When we take God out of the equation, we will cease to be the great nation; the sacrifice of thousands will have been for nothing.

Christians stop being afraid to stand up for our God; remember two important facts one and God is a majority and if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Pray continuously for a strong God-fearing President and cabinet, the families of 9/11, homeland security and the men and women of our armed forces.

If God is with us, who can stand against us?
