Domino's is making a comeback in Thomson.
The popular chain plans to open a store Monday, Sept. 27, in the former location of Black Dog Pizza at 1235 Washington Road, said Marketing Coordinator Rebecca Boren.
"Everyone is glad to see us back in town," said Ms. Boren.
A Domino's had formerly occupied the site, but was replaced in February by Black Dog Pizza.
The new Domino's, under different management, will offer carry out services and will deliver up to a five-mile radius around the store.
The shop will feature some new products such as a choice of fresh salads and the brand new Doublemelt pizza, said Manager Bruce Ulrich.
The Doublemelt is made with two layers of thin crust, enclosing a blend of creamy cheeses and herbs. It will be topped with traditional tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, choice of traditional toppings and a final layer of a six cheese blend.
In addition to the Doublemelt, the store will feature customary favorites such as pizzas with a choice or crusts, buffalo chicken strips and wings, and breadsticks.
Founded in 1960, Domino's is recognized as the world leader in pizza delivery, according to the company web site. Domino's operates approximately 7,500 franchises and company owned stores in the United States and around the world.
Hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
The company is hiring drivers, Ms. Boren said.
