THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Fred E. Dunaway, Sr., of Thomson, entered into rest September 19, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Mary Tankersley Dunaway.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2007, at the Bethel Baptist Church with Revs. Tim Ferrell and Travis Sharpe officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Edward Gay, Chris Wallace, Donnie Hadden, Lawson Tankersley, Mike Gurley and Jonathan Hadden.
Mr. Dunaway was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and was the son of the late Lucious Dunaway and the late Mattie Moore Dunaway. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Wayne Dunaway. He was retired from Thomson Company after 33 years, a member of Bethel Baptist Church and had served in the National Guard.
Survivors include wife, Mary T. Dunaway, Thomson; son, Fred E. Dunaway, Jr., Thomson; brother, Robert Dunaway, Thomson; sister, Shirley D. Buffington, Thomson; sister-in-law, Ava Dunaway, Thomson; nieces and nephews.
