McDuffie Regional Medical Center recently recognized April Keene, Medical Staff Coordinator, as its August Golden Heart Winner.
Mrs. Keene is a great example of excellent customer service, according to her co-workers.
"I have heard her at times in the hallway speaking to a patient or visitor showing them the way to their room or department," said Diane Murphy, Manager of Registration.
Ms. Murphy said Mrs. Keene's smile is always friendly and welcoming.
"I myself have never met her in the hallway, dining room, or mailroom when she hasn't had a smile on her face," said Mrs. Murphy. "She always takes time to say 'Hello' or 'How are you today?' Anytime you have to call on her for information, she is quick to reply with a pleasant 'Let me know if you need something else.'"
Mrs. Keene's commitment to MRMC shows every time employees hear her quiet, calm voice over the paging system, when she is filling in for her staff during their absence. The job she does for the medical staff shows further commitment.
"April performs an invaluable service to the medical staff," said Dr. Frank Powell, Medical Chief of Staff. "She always has a pleasant and professional demeanor. She is well deserving of the Golden Heart award."
