WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Bacon Garbutt, 70, beloved wife of the late Mr. William P. (Billy) Garbutt, Sr., died Saturday, September 27, 2008, at the Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the Raytown Baptist Church, Taliaferro County with Revs. Arthur Gunn, Wade Palmer and Robert Riley officiating.
Mrs. Garbutt, a native of Taliaferro County, had been a Warren County resident for many years, was the daughter of the late Carl Elmo and Kathleen Mulkey Bacon and retired from the City of Warrenton as Financial Administrator. Mrs. Garbutt was an active member of the Raytown Baptist Church and served as church treasurer.
Survivors include one son, Mitch (Angie) Garbutt; two grandchildren, Jessica Garbutt and Courtney Garbutt; two sisters, Mary Anne B. Quinn, and Linda B. Scott; one Brother Edmund (Janie) Bacon, three sisters-in-law, Eugenia G. Bellamy and Mary G. Stutts, and Clyde Garbutt; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, William P. (Pat) Garbutt, Jr., preceded Mrs. Garbutt in death.
