Thomson's Taste of Fall is changing seasons.
The annual event was originally scheduled for Oct. 11 at the Depot, but is being moved to February, according to Chamber of Commerce Director Carolyn Gilbert.
"It's been postponed so we can plan it bigger and better," Mrs. Gilbert said. "And we can combine it with the annual Heart Walk."
The tasting event has been a fundraiser for the American Heart Association for the last three years in Thomson. Patrons purchase a single ticket to the event that enables them to taste specialties of local restaurants and caterers.
February is National Heart Month, so rescheduling the event only makes sense, Mrs. Gilbert said. Also in February, people around the country have the opportunity to donate money and wear red for the cause.
The date for the tasting event has not been set. Mrs. Gilbert said other options are being considered, such as possibly including an art show with the event.
"We're just brainstorming," she said.
