WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Estee Roberts was born in Warrenton, November 19, 1911, to the late Starling and Mary Belle (Tucker) Roberts.
Mr. Roberts served on the Board of Family and Children's Services. For 21 years, he worked as a school bus driver for Warren County, but his most favored occupation during his early life was farming. He donated land to the Quality of Life Association for the establishment of a community park which was named in his honor. Mr. Roberts was a Mason, member of Banner Life, Layman's Union and Charity Benevolence.
He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Mrs. Thelma Roberts of Warrenton; son, Maurice (Dorothy) Roberts of Atlanta; daughters, Mrs. Paulette (Willie) McCormick of Warner Robins, and Mrs. Dorothy Thompson of North Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Mrs. Mable Dawson of Warrenton, and Mrs. Rubye Hicks of Harrisburg, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Roberts of Thomson, Mrs. Ruemilla Moss and Mrs. Lorene Williams of Atlanta; two granddaughters, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday September 30, 2006, at 1 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church in Warrenton with Rev. James Kendrick, presiding, and Rev. Ronald Strong serving as the Eulogist.
Pinkston-Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
