The Thomson Middle School Bulldogs upset previously undefeated Washington County last Thursday afternoon in the Brickyard 14-8 to keep their record unblemished at 3-0. This win propelled the Bulldogs into first place in the region and dropped Washington County's record to 3-1-0.
"This was a great win for our young team," said Bulldog Head Coach Nick Brinson. "This game definitely increased our momentum for our remaining games."
The Bulldogs opened their season with a 22-0 win over Warren County on Sept. 14 in Warrenton. In this game, Sam Lewis scored a couple of touchdowns along with a solo score from Anthony Moss.
"We played consistent football in this game against Warren County, but we need to improve each week," Coach Brinson said.
On Saturday, Sept. 23, the Bulldogs traveled to Wilkinson County and recorded a 30-8 win for their second victory of the year. A host of different Dogs found the end zone in this game.
The next home game for the Bulldogs will be on Oct. 11, when the Louisville Eagles fly into the Brickyard. Game time is 5 p.m.
