AVERA, Ga.- Mrs. Marlene Irby Chalker, 70, loving wife of the late Billy E. Chalker, entered into rest Saturday, October 2, 2004 at M.C.G. Hospital, Augusta.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Magnolia Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy White officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Chalker was a native of Glascock County but lived in Jefferson County most of her life. She was a member of the Gibson Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Parrish and her husband, Frank, of Stapleton; her son, Derry T. Chalker and his wife, Lisa T. of Virginia Beach, Va.; and three sisters, Jenene Walden of Avera, Ethel Davis of Thomson and Mildred Phillips of Gibson. Her grandchildren are Toni Lynn Brooks and her husband, Greg; Paul F. Parrish, Jr. and his wife, Molly; Clay Parrish and his wife, Tara; Cody Parrish, Tony Chalker, Derry Chalker and Victoria Chalker. Her great-grandchildren are Jared Brooks and Candence Parrish.
Mrs . Chalker was preceded in death by her loving son, Tony Chalker.
Pallbearers were Richard Walden, Keith Walden, Greg Walden, Paul F. Parrish, Jr., G.H. Cosby and Andrew Hayes.
Sheppard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
