SHELTON, Wash. - Graveside memorial services for Mr. Norman Cecil Carter, Jr., 67, who entered into rest September 21, 2008, after a courageous struggle with cancer, were conducted Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. in Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Rick Statham officiated.
Mr. Carter was a native of Ellenton, S.C., a former resident of Thomson, having made Shelton, Wash., his home. He proudly served 20 years with the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring in 1983, and in 2004 retired from U.S. Immigration with 20 years of service.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his mother, Lucile Beard Carter, his father, Norman Cecil Carter, Sr., and brother, Robert Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Daniel Carter, Shelton, Wash.; a son, Michael R. Carter, Richland, Wash.; two sisters, Carolyn Thompson and Shelby Cathcart, both of McDonough, Ga.; two grandchildren, Kady Errichetti and Tristan Carter; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
