Thornton weds Anderson in September ceremony

Amber Dawn Thorn and Nicholas Scott Anderson wee united in marriage on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at 3 p.m. at First Christian Church in Augusta. Rev. Stephen Drawdy officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Judy Thornton of Thomson and Chris Thornton of Lincolnton. She is the granddaughter of Josephine Thornton and Charles Thornton of Lincolnton and the late Corrine Poss of Thomson and the late Barney Poss of Greenwood, S.C.

The groom is the son of Dale and Sandra Anderson of Grovetown. He is the grandson of Eula Slaton of Grovetown and the late Billy Slaton of Grovetown.

The bride was given away by her brother, William Thornton.

Maid of honor was Tiffany Guthrie, friend of the bride, of Thomson. Bridesmaids were Cora Thornton, sister of the bride, of Thomson; Whitney Grimes and Kristain Johnson, both of Thomson; and Ashley Helms of Grovetown. Flower girl was Nichole Burrell of Harlem, friend of the bride and groom.

Eric Anderson, brother of the groom, of Grovetown, served as best man. Groomsmen were Nick Shelton, cousin of the bride, of Washington; Lance Cheely, of Dearing; Jeffery Beanon, Martinez, and Russell Barnes Jr., of Dearing. Levi Shelton of Washington, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. The couple is now living in Augusta.
