THOMSON, Ga. -- Mrs. Meryl Ansley Williamson, 84, widow of Mr. Woodrow Williamson, died Sunday, October 10, 2004 after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 12, 2004, in Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Williamson was a native of Columbia County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was retired from the McDuffie County School System. She was a member of the Thomson First Baptist Church, where she taught in the Children's Department for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Williamson and her son, Jimmy Williamson.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Nell Williamson, Blythe, David and Vicki Williamson, Lexington, S.C. and Tommy and Debbie Williamson, Anderson, S.C.; her daughter-in-law, Paulette Williamson, Thomson; four sisters, Rachel Phillips, Cathy Phillips, Dollie McMichael and Audrey McTier, all of Dearing; a brother, Mr. S.O. "Buck" Ansley, Jr., Dearing; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steven Palmer, Gary Garrison, Adam Baggett, Jim Baggett, Jerry Baggett and Sterling Ansley, Jr.
