Mr. James Leroy "BoBo" Gay, Jr.
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. James Leroy "BoBo" Gay, Jr., fiancee of Jami Dyane Key and son of James Leroy Gay, Sr. (Carol), Beech Island, S.C. and Brenda Spivey (Greg), Aiken, S.C., died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Born in Augusta, he had been a resident of Aiken County all of his life. He was a truck driver with Augusta Delivery Service and attended Friendship Baptist Church. BoBo enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding his Vulcan.
In addition to his fiancee and parents, he is survived by his children, Claira Nicole Gay and James Leroy Gay, III; siblings, William Edward Gay, Sr., North Augusta, S.C., Evelyn Suzette Hunt, Gloverville, S.C., Richard Wilkey, Aiken, S.C., Kimberly Dawn Frazier, Beech Island, S.C., Jamie Lyne Gay, Beech Island, SC, Michael Emory Shoemaker, Augusta, Misty Zeigler, Atlanta, and April Dawn Connor, Conyers, Ga.; and grandparents, Clarence and Anna McGee, Dearing, and Robert and Janice Gay, North Augusta, S.C.
A celebration of life service was held Friday, October 10, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, North Augusta, S.C., with Pastor Heyward Horton officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, S.C.
Pallbearers were Drew McGee, Rusty McGee, Kenneth Drake, Kenneth Smith, Brandon Roark and James Cosnahan. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and memorials in memory of BoBo be made to the scholarship fund that will be established for the children.
Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
