The art of staying safe

The seventh annual Emergency Services and Safety Awareness Day was held in the Wal-Mart parking lot Saturday with displays by local fire departments, law enforcement, emergency medical services, Georgia Forestry, D.A.R.E., Georgia State Patrol, Southeastern Burn Foundation, LifeNet, the Department of Natural Resources and the McDuffie County dive team. Activities for children included finger printing, touring the safety house, a dunking booth, face painting, touring fire trucks and ambulances, coloring contest, raffles and concessions. All proceeds benefited the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation.
