HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Margaret Virginia Kitchens, 85, wife of the late Warren Kitchens, entered into rest October 14, 2006 at Thomson Manor Health Care Center.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 15, 2006 at 4 p.m. at Zoar United Methodist Church with Revs. Wayne McDaniel and Sam Collins officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kitchens was retired as a sales clerk from Anderson's Dept. Store. Mrs. Kitchens was a very active member of the Zoar United Methodist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She was a past president of U.M.C. Society, Sunday School Treasurer, and Sunday School Teacher at Zoar. She was also a member of the VSP Club in Harlem.
Survivors include three sons, Warren P. (Frankie) Kitchens, Thomson, David P. Kitchens, Gibson, and Edward E. Kitchens, Hephzibah; a daughter, Eva K. Newsome, Harlem; two sisters, Nell Holley, Wrens, and Inez Griswold, Augusta; two brothers, Herbert Anderson, Wrens, and Samuel Anderson, Smyrna; daughter -in-law, Rosa Lee Kitchens, Matthews; four grandchildren, Pam Shields, Michael Kitchens, Jeff Kitchens, and Brad Kitchens; and six great grandchildren, Kimberly Hawkins, Chris Hawkins, Katelyn Shields, Matthew Shields, Lauren Kitchens, and Hunter Kitchens.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne D. Kitchens.
Pallbearers were Russell Richards, Randy Payne, Everett Hobbs, Ken Richardson, Carl Bowen, and Sam Kitchens.
James Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
