DEARING, Ga. - Mr. George M. Padgett, Sr. of Dearing, entered into rest October 13, 2006 at University Hospital.
Mr. Padgett was born in Harlem, GA and was the son of the late Lonnie B. Padgett and the late Emma Estelle Washington Padgett. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was retired as an installer and repairman from Bellsouth after 35 years of service. Mr. Padgett was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Meadows Padgett, Dearing; daughter, Audrey Renee Murphy (Lee), Thomson; sons, George M. Padgett II, Boneville, Bernard B. Padgett (Angie), Dearing, and Robert W. Padgett, Dearing; sisters, Barbara Ann Cramer, Sacremento, Ca., Sarah Laverne Faircloth, Augusta; grandchildren, Jamie Murphy, Ashley Murphy, Christie Clary, Rob Cameron, Samantha Padgett, Michael Usry, George M. Padgett, III, Audrey Rose Padgett; and two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Murphy and Dalton Clary.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2006 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Frank Thigpen and Roger Fulmer officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Hall, Kenneth Brackett, Dave Burnley, Rob Johnson, Nick Davis and Todd Burch.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
