AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Jodie Hughes Ivey, Jr., 84 entered into rest Friday October 14, 2005. He was the husband of the late Grace Seals Ivey.
Graveside services were held Tuesday October 18, 2005 at 11 AM at Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Ivey, a native of Thomson, was the son of the late Jodie Hughes Ivey, Sr. and the late Annie Toole Ivey. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and he was a member of First Southern Methodist Church. Mr. Ivey retired from Walker Ford Inc. after 42 years of service, where his last position held was Manager of the Body Shop. He then went on to work for the Richmond County Board of Education in the Maintenance Department and later retired. Mr. Ivey was a charter member of the Exchange Club of Summerville.
Survivors include his son, Buddy Ivey (Sandy) of Evans; two grandchildren, Jodie H. Ivey IV "Chip" (Sterling) of Augusta, and Ashley I. Caughman (Pat) of Martinez, and seven great-grandchildren, Harrison Burdeshaw, Meaghan Burdeshaw, Maddox Burdeshaw, Hannah Burdeshaw, Patrick Ivey, Ansley Ivey and Katherine Ivey.
