Briarwood Academy set to face Emanuel Academy for Homecoming game; Queen to be crowned at halftime

Briarwood Academy will celebrate its 34th Homecoming during pregame and halftime ceremonies at the 7:30 p.m. football game between the Briarwood Buccaneers and David Emanuel Academy of Stillmore on Friday, Oct. 24, at Briarwood.

Pre-game activities, which begin at 7 p.m., include the introduction of the Homecoming Court, which is composed of nine senior candidates for Queen. They will be escorted onto the field by classmates for pre-game introductions and onto the field by their fathers at halftime for the crowning of the Queen.

The Queen, who is elected by the high school student body, will be crowned by 2007 Homecoming Queen Cassie Pickrell.

The flower girl and crown bearer, selected from the first grade class by the Senior Class, are Hannah Murray, the daughter of Edie Murray of Thomson and Bryan Murray of Warrenton, and Chapman Mohr, the son of Chris and Kim Mohr of Thomson.
