Wilson weds Presley in ceremony at parents' home

Patty Bea Wilson and Kempton Wade Presley were united in marriage on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at the bride's home in Thomson. Rev. R. David Cox and Rev. Patrick Smith Shannon officiated.

Patty Bea is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Norman Wilson, Jr., of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Glenn Trammell of Friendswood, Tex., and Mr. Robert Norman Wilson of Thomson and the late Mrs. Robert Norman Wilson. She is the goddaughter of Mrs. John Watson Wilson of Thomson and the late Mr. John Watson Wilson.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Thomson High School and a 2004 graduate of University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in speech communication. She was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She is employed by Ajilon Finance as an account manager.

Kempton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kempton Presley of Nashville, Tenn. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Fall Wade of Nashville, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Earl Presley of Washington, D.C.

The groom is a 1999 graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy, a 2003 graduate of Washington and Lee, where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics and a 2007 graduate of Columbia University, where he earned a masters in public health. He is employed by Athens Blue Cross Blue Shield as a national account manager.

Given in marriage by her father, Patty Bea chose her sisters, Trammell Lowry Wilson of Atlanta and Martha Delle Wilson of Nashville, Tenn., to serve as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Susan Joy Dallas of Atlanta; Sara Scruggs Griffith of Atlanta; Sarah Hunter Peagler of Charleston, S.C.; Jessica Miller Romanoff of Atlanta; Julie Anne Singleton of Charleston, S.C.; Martha Claire Woldert of New York, N.Y., all friends of the bride, and Ann Bradford Presley of Nashville, Tenn., sister of the groom.

The groom chose his father to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Joseph Michael Augustine, Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; Lee Cole Barfield of Nashville, Tenn.; William Hanna Coffman of Washington, D.C.; Joseph Marshall Davis of Boston, Mass.; William Clayton Ezell of New York, N.Y.; Elliot Raynes Kyle of Washington, D.C.; John Powell Glover Thompson of Memphis, Tenn., all friends of the groom, and Robert Norman Wilson III of Athens, Ga., brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Cole Michael Mendenhall of Friendswood, Texas, cousin of the bride.

Soloists were Wendi Jewel Wilson, cousin of the bride and Laura Virginia Knox, friend of the bride; readers were Allison Elizabeth Taylor, friend of the bride, and Frank White Wade, cousin of the groom, and program attendants were friends of Ajilon. Acolytes were Virginia Stewart Goodson, Andrea Marie Trammell Sunday, Virginia Marie Wilson, Mary Allen Wilson, all cousins of the bride, and DeeDee Johnson Wade and Mary Fall Wade, cousins of the groom. Ushers were Charles Jameson Corts, George Bradley Hearn, William Griggs Mealor II, John Newton Pate, and Michael Wickiffe Ruehling, all friends of the groom. Bell ringer was William Scott Wade, cousin of the groom. Greeters were George Davide McIntosh, friend of the groom, Jonathan Paul McCorkle and John David Williams, friends of the bride, and Robert Alan Wilson, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and evening of dancing were held at the home of the bride. The newlyweds are honeymooning in the Hawaiian Islands. The couple will reside in New York, N.Y.
