Tuesday, Nov. 7, is voting day, and local polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Board of Elections Superintendent Phyllis Wheeler said another change has been made on the state level concerning picture identification requirements.
"The last I heard, you don't have to have a picture ID. ...It is not required. You can bring your Georgia Power bill to show your name, if you want," Ms. Wheeler said.
Locally, citizens will vote on members of the Board of Education. Super District 1 residents are those who vote at the Queen of Angels, the Fire Station, the Depot, the Shriners Club and Happy Valley polls. The polls at the fire station and Queen of Angels also include single District 3. The Board of Education District 7 residents vote at Marshall Church, Pine Grove, White Oak and some in Dearing.
