THS Junior Varsity ends season on winning streak

The Thomson Junior Varsity football team started off slow this season but ended up with a four-game winning streak to close out the year and obtain a 4-1-1 record.

The JV Bulldogs tied Washington County in the opening game of the season 7-7. Then they lost 0-7 to Lincoln County on a long run at the end of the game that had been a defensive battle.

Against Greenbrier, the JV Dogs started their winning streak with a 22-15 win. They beat Lakeside 14-8 in the second and final away game of the season.

Back in The Brickyard, the team defeated Burke County 13-6. The final game came on Oct. 19 and was the team's first shutout. It was a 25-0 win over Washington-Wilkes.

On offense, running backs Cody Ewest, De'Andre Williams and Brandon Huff helped propel the JV Dogs to a winning record. According to www.thomsonfootball.com, defensive standouts were Mario Lowe, Dexter Sneed, Clint Chalker, Tresvontiss Chambliss and Corey Mathis.
