DEARING, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, October 24, 2005, at the University Hospital, Augusta, Mr. William Monroe Reeves, 70, of Dearing.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2005, at Fort Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Boyd Reeves officiating. Interment was in the Reeves Family Cemetery.
Mr. Reeves was born in Jefferson County and was a lifelong resident of Dearing. He was an electrician and an Army veteran. Mr. Reeves was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Harlem Masonic Lodge and Fort Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother Steve (Dorothy) Reeves of Olive Branch, Miss.; one sister, Shirley Sorrow of Moultrie, Ga.; four nieces, one nephew, and 11 greatnieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Clarence Holliman, Howard Carithers, Warren McCorkle, Junior Stewart, Jerry Brinkley, and Stanley McCorkle. Honorary Pallbearers were Alvin 'Smokey' Hillman, Wyman Clark, Dixon Reeves, Billy Rodgers, Raymon Wood, Wallace Davis, Wilbur Holliman, Kenneth Whitaker, Bobby Neal, and Larry Murrary.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
