Dear Thomson,
I don't know where to begin, perhaps Aug. 29, when Katrina wiped away my city. Without contemplation, my instinct was to return to you with family in tow in order to seek solace in a place that to me, has been untouched by time.
How comforting your welcome was to us as we sought peace of mind for our fragile spirits.
I always loved that I grew up in such a quaint town, but have been more amazed at how quickly and without questions, you embraced my family, comforted us with endless charity and then befriended us.
Because of Thomson, New Orleans has been easier to bear. Every day seems to get better. Although we have daunting challenges ahead, our path has been brightened by your wonderful hospitality.
We'll be back Thanksgiving. Hope to see you all around the dinner table.
