APPLING, Ga.- Mrs. Ida Mae Gay, 92, widow of B. G. Gay, of Appling, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004 in Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30, in the Silver Run Baptist Church with the Rev. John McMillian and Jerry Pittman officiating. Burial was in the Harlem City Cemetery.
Mrs. Gay was a native of McDuffie County, but had lived in Appling for many years. She was retired from the Thomson Company after 40 years of service and also worked at Neals BBQ in Harlem. She was a member of the Silver Run Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Allen.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Homer and Ellen Gay, Appling; two sisters, Myrtle Morris, Harlem, Eva Mae Williams, Dearing; her brother, Clifford Miles, Harlem; her grandson, Pete Allen, Harlem and her granddaughter, Delores Kitchens, Gibson.
Pallbearers were Tim Edwards, Ray Miles, Kevin Allen, Dan Allen, Randy Frost and James Kitchens.
