Mrs. Marion Jenkins
Homemaker

THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Marion Jenkins, 90, of Thomson, entered into rest October 29, 2008, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Joe Nelson Jenkins.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Hadden officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Chris Jenkins, Jason Jenkins, Doug Stacks, Don Hadden, Larry Hadden and Ronnie Hadden.

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Glascock County and was the daughter of the late Ernie Hadden and the late Sally Ivey Hadden. She was a graduate of Georgia State College in Milledgeville and was a graduate of Clemson University. Mrs. Jenkins taught school and was a homemaker. She was an avid bridge player, and played golf with the Women's League. Mrs. Jenkins was also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and a member of First Baptist Church in Thomson.

Survivors include a son: Joe Jenkins and his wife Sherry, Dacula, Ga.; sisters: Julia Hughes, Thomson, Corrie Hawkins, Huntsville, Ala., Betty Haddon, Gibson; five grandchildren: Maria Stacks, Chris Jenkins, Jonathan Jenkins, Jason Jenkins and Amy Jenkins; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Alzeimers Association, 1899 Central Ave. Augusta, GA 30904-5739.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
