THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Leon Mynatt, 83, beloved husband of Mrs. Sybil Mynatt, died Friday, October 31, 2008, in University Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, in the Thomson First Baptist Church, with Dr. James Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Mr. Mynatt was a native of Knoxville, Tenn., but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a retired broker. He was a Marine veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Thomson First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class. He was a member of The A.J. Miller Masonic Lodge and he was a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sybil Mynatt, Thomson; his daughter, Mrs. Barbara (Joe) Judson, Hilton Hill, S.C.; his sister, Mrs. Georgia Davidson, Perkins; four grandchildren, Lee Chapman, Andy Chapman, Jason Judson, and Kaila Judson; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lee Chapman, Andy Chapman, Jason Judson, Floyd Montgomery, Johnny Newton, Robert Rivers, and Anthony Turner. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Men's Bible Class.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
