Annual Sportsman's Festival comes to Warrenton on Nov. 11

The annual Warren County Sportsman's Family Festival will be held in Warrenton from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The entire family will enjoy the variety of arts & crafts vendors, carnival rides, pony rides, hunting exhibits, various commercial vendors, and all kinds of delicious food. Activities will take place all day long including some of the following events.

  • The Fun Run for children up to age 18 will begin at 9 a.m. in front of Forest and Land Services on Memorial Drive. Call Larry Rachels for more info at 706-465-3241.

  • The free health fair, sponsored by Tri-County Medical Center and Warren County Health Department, is open all morning to people of all ages in Warrenton City Hall.

  • The annual Car Cruise In will take place around the downtown square beginning at 10 a.m. Awards will be presented at 2:30 pm, and this event is sponsored by The Jewell Box and VP Racing Fuels. Call Andrew Coard at 706-465-2198 for more information.

  • The Veterans Program, hosted by the American Legion Post # 96, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.

  • The Turkey Shoot and the judging of the Big Buck Contest will take place during the afternoon at the Warrenton Veteran's Club on East Warrenton Road. (The buck must be killed that day). These events are sponsored by Old Anderson Plantation. Call George Langford at 706-840-3174 for more info. Prize will be awarded to the deer that scores the highest.

  • At 3 p.m. on the main stage, the Festival Fashion Show is open to all children up to 18 years old ($5 entry fee). Children may wear their own clothing and submit a description of the outfit in advance. Following the fashion show, there will be a Festival Talent Show, and anyone up to the age of 18 is invited to participate ($10 entry fee). The Talent Show is sponsored by Corporate Hunts and Events by Design, and there will be a cash award for the first place winner of $100.

  • Prizes will be given away from the main stage, including a two-person full day quail hunt at BriarRose, Remington 700 ADL 7MM Mag. scope and gun combo, spa services from Tuscany Day Spa, and a 50/50 drawing. Tickets are being sold at Miss Jane's Restaurant and Wheeler Hardware. Tickets will also be sold at the Welcome Booth that day.

  • Parking and admission are free.
