THOMSON, Ga. - Rev. Jack H. Herrington, 75, entered into rest on Friday November 4, 2005, at University Hospital.
Funeral Services were held Monday November 7, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the Belair Road Chapel of Platt's Funeral Home with Dr. Phil Bray of Fort Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Evans Baptist Church Cemetery.
Rev. Herrington was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Carrie Pollard Herrington.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Herrington and his wife, Kathy of Thomson, Kirk Herrington and his wife, B. Kay of N. Augusta; three daughters, Julie Lee of N. Augusta, Cindy Smith and her husband, Benjie of Martinez, Cheri Blackwell of N. Augusta; two brothers, Wilbur T. Herrington and his wife, Betty of Snellville, Ga., Terry P. Herrington and his wife, Martha of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; two sisters, Louise H. Allen of Evans, and Carol H. Rhodes of Augusta; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and former wife, Jackie Adams of Harlem.
Rev. Herrington was employed by the Georgia Department of Labor for 31 years. He served as the minister at Ridgeview Baptist Church in N. Augusta, and Dry Branch Baptist Church in Perkins, Ga., for 26 years. He was called into the ministry at the age of 14.
Family members served as pallbearers.
