Mr. Lewis Usry, 88, of Thomson, entered into rest November 7, 2005 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Inez Irby Usry.
Mr. Usry was born in Jefferson County, Georgia but lived most of his life in Thomson. He was the son of the late Tom Usry and the late Emma Marsh Usry. He was retired from National Homes and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters: Edna Kennedy (Walter) of Thomson and Linda Bradley (Ken) of Rex, Ga.; sons Kenneth L. Usry (Kathy) of Thomson, Dennis W. Usry (Cheryl) of Martinez, Tommy Usry (Shelley) of Evans, Billy R. Usry (Dinah) of Union Point, Ga.; a son-in -law, Roy Mathis of Griffin; a brother, Ray Usry of Grovetown; sisters Dessie Newsome of Warrenton, Blanche Kitchens of Gibson, and Mary Landrum of Warrenton; and 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mr. Usry was preceded in death by two daughters, Evelyn Usry and Ann Mathis.
Graveside Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery in Glascock County with Dr. James Ramsey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund P. O. Box 1205, Thomson, Ga.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
