The McDuffie County Farm Bureau will award two $1,200 scholarships to high school seniors for the 2006-2007 academic year, J. Robert Farr, McDuffie County Farm Bureau president recently announced. The applicant's parent or legal guardian must be a member of Farm Bureau as of April 1, 2005.
Applicants must plan to enter a unit of The University System of Georgia or Berry College during the 2006-2007 academic year to pursue a course of study in the field of agricultural and environmental sciences, family and consumer sciences or a related agricultural field. All applications must be submitted to the Farm Bureau office on the Augusta Highway no later than Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2005.
The two winners of these scholarships will also be entered in the Georgia Farm Bureau scholarship program which will award four $1,500 scholarships under these same guidelines.
The two local winners will receive $600 the freshman year and the remaining $600 the sophomore year provided they maintain a B average their freshman year.
