Recently Thomson High School's Billy Brunson was recognized for being News Channel 6's "Scholar Athlete of the Week."

"I was excited about the opportunity to be on television," Billy said. "I appreciate my coach for nominating me."
Not only does Billy participate in football, but he has a 3.9 grade point average.
He also participates in tennis and is a member of the BETA club.
He is the co-president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a Senior Adopter.
Billy felt very proud of his accomplishments.
"I was honored to be able to represent myself, my team, my school, and my family," Billy said.
Billy also has plans for when he graduates.
"I plan to attend the University of Georgia, after graduation. I also feel called to pursue a career in youth ministry," he added.
"Billy is a great role model for not only his senior class, but for all students," said classmate Emmie Davis. "It's great to see how well he balances his schoolwork and his athletic abilities on the field."
