Wilson weds Smith in ceremony at Pine Top Farm

Martha Delle Wilson and Clayton Scott Smith were united in marriage on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the bride's family farm "Pine Top" in Thomson. Rev. Patrick Smith Shannon officiated. Martha Delle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Norman Wilson, Jr., of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Glenn Trammell of Friendswood, Tex., and the late Mr.and Mrs. Robert Norman Wilson of Thomson. She is the goddaughter of Mrs. John Watson Wilson of Thomson, and the late Mr. John Watson Wilson.

Martha Delle is a graduate of The University of Georgia / Medical College of Georgia Nursing School with a bachelor of science in nursing and she received her masters in science with a focus in anesthesia from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. Currently, she is a certified registered nurse of anesthesia for Nashville General Hospital.

Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clayton Smith of Charlotte, N.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. Helen Hess Garvey of Lebanon, Ohio, and the late Mr. Charles Scott Garvey and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith of Charlotte, N.C. Scott is a graduate of the University of North Carolina where he received a bachelor of arts in communications. He is currently the on-premise sales account manager for Coca-Cola Consolidated.

Given in marriage by her father, Martha Delle chose her sisters Patty Bea Wilson Presley of New York, N.Y., to serve as her matron of honor and Trammell Lowry Wilson of Atlanta, to serve as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Blanche Stafford King of Macon, and Susan Joy Dallas McElheney and Kelley Anne Samha, both of Atlanta, all friends of the bride, Caroline Elizabeth Smith of Charlotte, N.C., sister of the groom, and Andrea Marie Trammell Sunday of Santa Fe, Tex., cousin of the bride. Mommy Bridesmaids along with baby ring bearer sons Susan Singleton Dunn along with Patrick Brian Dunn, Jr., of Saint Simons Island, Ga., and Courtney Forrester Swift along with son Thomas Phillips Swift, Jr., of Macon. Flower girl was Virginia Rains Foscue, Charlotte, N.C., cousin of the groom.

Scott chose his father to serve as the best man. Groomsmen were Kelly Glenn Fisher, Jason Dax Vandevere, William Richard Zollinger III, all of Charlotte, N.C., friends of the groom, Kempton Wade Presley of New York, N.Y., brother-in-law of the bride, Robert Norman Wilson III of Athens, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Cole Michael Mendenhall of Friendswood, Tex., cousin of the bride.

Acolytes Light Bearer was Chandler Cooper, cousin of the bride, Acolytes Cross Bearers were Hailey Foscue, and Dallas Foscue III, both cousins of the groom. Ushers were Michael Mahoney, Benjamin Dobson, Richard Porter, and Cameron Buchanan, all friends of the groom. Greeters were Julia Bright, Erin Dickey, Lori Richardson, and Rosemary Harbeson. Music soloist was Jeanie Joesbury accompanied by son, Jack Joesbury.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's family. The couple will honeymoon in Peter Island and will reside in Nashville, Tenn.
