DEARING, Ga. - Mr. David Mooney, Jr. 80, beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Etta Mooney, died Wednesday November 8, 2006 in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held 12 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006 in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial followed in the Mesena United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Mooney, III, James Powell, Jr., Ryan Meyer, Allen Meredith, Sr., John Stewart and Bobby Akers.
Mr. Mooney was a native of Barnwell County, SC, and a son of the late Dave and Mollie Fennell Mooney. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Mesena United Methodist Church and a retired painter.
Mr. Mooney is survived by wife, Mrs. Mary Etta Evans Mooney of Dearing; three daughters, Betty Jo Meyer of Augusta, Valarie Meredith of Martinez, and Teresa Mooney of Atlanta; son, David Mooney III of Grovetown; sister, Marie Evans of Boneville; two brothers, Joe Mooney of Pittsburg, PA and James Mooney of Augusta; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
